XLXLEF - LEFARS digital gateway overview
LEFARS members with DMR radios can communicate with other members using the Brandmeister talkgroup 23511 at any time. A personal hotspot is required or via a repeater like GB7HH.There is a weekly DMR net every Wednesday at 20:00 (local) .
D-Star and Yaesu YSF (C4FM) users can now use XLXLEF, a digital gateway that also connects to Brandmeister talkgroup 23511. The XLXLEF server is hosted in a London datacentre by Dave M0UPM primarily for members of Loughton & Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society.
XLXLEF peers with DMR Brandmeister (BM) Talk Group 23511 / LEFARS and allows multiple connections with several types of digital radio from your hotspot. Transcoding (six channels with two AMBE-3003 Vocoder chips), on module B only, supports the following modes and protocols for hotspot connections:
D-Star XLXLEF B (DCS, DExtra, REF and XRF)
Yaesu Fusion (YSF) GB LEFARS (YSF23511).
DMR XLXLEF B (DMRMmdvm)
In addition connections to XLX-LEF/BM23511 are available for :
P25 users on reflector 23511
NXDN users on reflector 23511
M17 users on reflector M17-LEF
Tetra users on tetrapack talk group 23511
Icom ID-51, IC-705 and IC-9700 users with Terminal Mode /XLXLEFB (Further details on using Terminal mode with an ID-51 here and other Icom radios here )
Further info, connection details and resources are on the XLXLEF help page here
